Don Walker To Play Shows

Don Walker will be playing some shows in May around Australia and you would be unwise not to attend. I haven’t been able to find any information about the shows other than Don Walker will be performing them and he will receive support from a chap named Roy Payne on most of them.

But really the fact that Don Walker is performing the shows gives me confidence in my assertion that it would be unwise not to attend. That’s not a threat of anything, its not like this is one of those proverbial “offers you cant refuse”, it’s just that your life will be enriched by turning up.

He is playing some interesting venues, ranging from inner-city clubs to theatre restaurants (albeit very good musical theatre restaurants, with apparently great food) to suburban beer barns to the Oakleigh-Carnegie RSL. This is a good thing because it means the tour may lead to an ironic observational chapter in Walkers next book. Not that we know anything about a next book either.

His last book “ Shots” was masterful, disturbing, funny, strange and exceedingly well written. It kind of made a mockery of the term “rock n’ roll memoir” but it never really claimed to be one anyway.

Roy Payne sounds like he is well worth hearing. He’s been described as follows:
