David Gray has a great relationship with Australian audiences and he will continue the affair when he returns this October. This will be his first visit since his arena tour in 2006.
He’ll only be playing in Melbourne and Sydney (and only one show in each) though and he’s playing at smaller venues primarily to support the release of his eighth studio album, Draw The Line.
Draw The Line includes the lead single, Fugitive, the much talked about Nemesis, plus duets with Eurythmics vocalist Annie Lennox on Full Steam and newcomer Jolie Holland on Kathleen. Draw The Line is available as the standard 11-track CD or the deluxe, two-CD package, complete with nine bonus tracks, recorded live at the London Roundhouse in 2007
Aiming to challenge himself and break his own boundaries, rather than simply reach for round two of world domination, David Gray appears to have achieved both with Draw The Line.
First introduced to Australian audiences over a decade ago via his epic album White Ladder, David Gray has been embraced by fans. He has a devoted fan base but manages to surprise with the scope and breadth of his live concerts. David Gray’s last tour was a resounding success.
“…David Gray had the audience with him from the moment the lights went down and the love they threw at the stage didn’t let up” – The West Australian
“…Gray’s honest songwriting and passionate performances have earned him what today’s transient pop stars could only wish to have – loyal fans in it for the long haul” – Herald Sun
“Gray demonstrates that adult contemporary pop need not be mawkish or dull.” – The Age
