Fleetwood Mac Tour in December

Fleetwood Mac have one of the most extraordinary stories both on and off the stage and in and out of the studio of just about any contemporary band. They climbed the mountain to be just about as big as it was possible to be and yet managed to self destruct internally about as explosively as its possible to…um… explode.
But it seems that time will heal all wounds and following a successful 55-city sold out North American tour, Fleetwood Mac will bring their “Unleashed” tour to Australia later this year.
The tour, their first in five years, is a two-hour plus celebration of all the greatest hits from undoubtedly one of the most enduring, celebrated rock groups of all time.
“We love our band and think the title of the tour, “Unleashed”, perfectly describes how we all feel when we get on stage together – especially in 2009. We’re so happy to get back out on the road where we’ll get to perform everyone’s favorite songs and see our fans,” the band said in a joint statement.
I wonder how long it took them to agree on a joint statement!
Fleetwood Mac – Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie – have received unanimous rave reviews on the US tour and have enjoyed themselves so much, they have added a two month stint through Europe leading in to Australia starting December 1.
This of course does increase the likelihood of the band self destructing before they get here but that’s a chance we have to take.
The press release gushes about the set list and for good reason. Included in the current tour are ‘Rhiannon’, ‘Dreams’, ‘The Chain’, ‘Tusk’, ‘Landslide’, ‘Gold Dust Woman’, ‘Say That You Love Me’, ‘Stand Back’, ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Sara’ and ‘Never Going Back Again’. to name just a few.
Christine McVie wont be joining the band on this tour or any other it seems and apparently Sheryl Crow was a possibility to fill her spot until Stevie Nicks advised her that it wouldn’t be any good for her mental health. She was probably right.
