Indeed the first Slade album I got into too. It came on the heels of ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ (first Slade single i bought). They were my favourite band by that far it didn’t matter. Never forgiven parents for not letting me go to concert when in yr 9!!! Single released for that tour was ‘Good Time Gals’. ‘Miles Out To Sea’ and ‘When The Lights Are Out’ both got airings later with Jim’s side project The Dummies …… lighter and poppier.

What a fantastic surprise to see this review of Slade’s album arrive
in my inbox this morning.

I was a huge Slade nutter myself. I did a radio interview a couple of
weeks ago, and had to choose five songs to play, and my Slade choice
was “Get Down & Get With It” from Slade Alive.

Old New Borrowed and Blue is indeed, a great album, and they are for
sure the unsung heroes of that era.

Kiss, as we know them, would not exist without Slade, and you can even
hear their influence in many Teenage Fan Club tracks.

Anyway, thanks again and I’m really enjoying Hey Hey My My.
